Production Facilities
Printmaking
The Glasgow Print Studio Workshop features a wide range of printmaking facilities. The high quality and versatility of equipment on offer has attracted artists from the UK, Russia, Germany, Israel, Spain, Denmark, Brazil, Ukraine, India, Japan, South Africa, Australia, Canada and the USA.
Such a variety of visiting artists, along with the two hundred regular members of the studio ensures that a wide range of styles and techniques are being practised. This in turn creates a lively atmosphere and friendly environment, with the social and cultural mix that stimulates a constant discussion and exchange of philosophies, ideas and working practices. The workshop is run by an experienced staff of expert artist printmakers who can provide guidance and technical advice on all aspects of printmaking.
How to access the workshop
Access is open to all members of the public who have printmaking experience (with regular evening classes to ensure that those wishing to acquire or refresh their skills have the opportunity to do so).
Membership is taken out annually and allows members access to the workshop facilities. Members will also receive invitation to exhibition previews, artist's talks and information on all professional and social activities. A system of session fees, paid daily, quarterly or yearly contributes to the cost of consumables provided by the workshop such as inks, solvents and related print chemistry, rags and cleaning materials.
