Street Level Photoworks
Ground Floor: Galleries, education space, darkrooms and production facilities
Second Floor: Archive, colour print facility
Since it was established in 1989, Street Level Photoworks has provided artists and the general public with the opportunity to produce and participate in photography and lens based media. Street Level is the only open-access facility in the medium available to artists and the wider public in the West of Scotland.
Street Level offers production facilities to professional artists and opportunities for the public to learn about and develop skills in the creation of photographic and new media art. Courses cover a diverse range of techniques from the basic of black and white photography to web design. The organisation also has a programme of outreach projects and education services for community groups and schools.
The exhibition programme at Street Level promotes new artistic practices in photography and media art by both emerging and established artists, locally and internationally. It also features exhibitions and installations created as a result of the organisation's outreach programmes, a reflection of the integrated approach that emphasises the value and importance of these programmes.
Street Level promotes critical engagement through talks, seminars, interpretation activities. It also hosts other events in music and literature that complement or extend the work of the organisation.
Trongate 103 houses enhanced facilities for the organisation, two larger gallery spaces, dedicated education and workshop spaces, and a wider range of production facilities to support both practising artists and the wider public.
