Glasgow Print Studio
Ground and first floor: Galleries
Second Floor: Workshops, learning zone and archive
Fine arts printmaking is a creative activity that can be enjoyed by all and Glasgow Print Studio provides opportunities for everyone to experience, enjoy, learn and develop skills in the art of printmaking.
Glasgow Print Studio was founded in 1972 to provide facilities and workshop space for printmakers. Now, as an internationally acclaimed centre of excellence in fine art printmaking, it promotes contemporary and innovative printmaking through practice, development, exhibition, learning and conservation.
Glasgow Print Studio is the longest standing tenant of the building that is now Trongate 103, having moved there in 1988. Trongate 103 presented Glasgow Print Studio with vastly enhanced facilities over three floors, with a retail gallery at ground floor leading up into the first floor main gallery and second floor workshops.
Trongate 103 provided much improved access to Glasgow Print Studio's main gallery and workshop. The workshop itself is larger, allowing more artists to work simultaneously. For the first time there is a dedicated education room for in-house learning activities. A new feature for Glasgow Print Studio was a publicly accessible archive, which houses prints editioned at GPS over the past 30 years
