For Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art 2012 (GI), Glasgow Print Studio is pleased to present Transcendental Roof Party, a solo exhibition of bold yet refined paintings and drawings by 'New Glasgow Boy' Adrian Wiszniewski RSA.
Wiszniewski was born in Glasgow in 1958. He studied architecture at the Mackintosh School of Architecture, and then attended Glasgow School of Art from 1979 to 1983. He belonged to the group of Glasgow-based artists who led a revival of figurative painting in Scottish art during the 1980s with the exhibition Vigorous Imagination at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. Wiszniewski has worked with Glasgow Print Studio since the mid-eighties producing editions in all media.
His work can be found in major public collections including Kelvingrove Art Gallery in Glasgow; Scottish Gallery of Modern Art, Edinburgh; Museum of Modern Art, New York; Setegaya, Tokyo; Tate Gallery and V & A, London.
Please Note: the exhibition will be open to the public on Friday 20th April at 10am, with the Opening Night on Saturday the 21st of April.

Saturday 5th of May, 1.30 to 2.30pm. Adrian Wiszniewski will discuss his work and current exhibition with Archive Curator, Kerry Patterson. The event will begin in the first floor gallery and will be followed by an opportunity to view some of Adrian's prints in our Archive Room
