Trongate 103 artist-in-residence Sandra Alland is holding an open studio event in the Trongate 103 Visiting Artist Studio with collaborators from the collective, b)other.
b)other was formed in Glasgow in July 2009 by Sh[OUT] artist-in-residence Sandra Alland and Stuart Crawford, Nathan Gale, Y. Josephine, Jennie Kermode, Rebeca Pla, Alison Smith, Penny Stenhouse and Kristiane Taylor. The group is producing a "zine" (short for FANZINE, an independent magazine), called "A Spot of b)other," about the intersection of LGBTI, Deaf and Disabled cultures, as well as a number of artworks that will be displayed at GoMA from 26 November. Please drop in, meet the artists, and discuss their work.
The Visiting Artist Studio is located on the second floor of the building and hosts a rolling programme of local, national and international artist residencies. The first residency to be hosted at Trongate 103 is in partnership with the Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA). Sh[out]: Contemporary art and human rights is the fourth social justice programme. The two artists in resident for the SH[out] programme, Ajamnu X and Sandra Alland, will be based in the Visiting Artist Space from September - November 2009.
